Most worship ministries these days use LCD screens to project their worship song lyrics. We have already covered a couple of freeware options for this in powerworship and openlp.
Openlp or most other worship projection software would provide options to store and change backgrounds when the text is displayed. Sort of helps to display an appropriate image behind the lyrics to add meaning to the song during the worship session.
Here are 3 cool websites providing free high resolution wallpapers that can be used as backgrounds for song projection needs:
Desktop Nexus has thousands of high quality images neatly arranged under common categories. The site has a good search function too. Only downside is each image has to be downloaded individually as there's no batch select & download option.
VLADSTUDIO has wallpapers specific to single monitor, 2 or 3 monitor setups, iPhone and iPad. So if you want customized backgrounds for these devices, this is a neat site to visit. There's no easy search facility though, so you'll have to browse the images page by page till you spot what you're looking for.
Wallpapr is a beta website with a simple search engine to find images. Like Vladstudio, wallpapr also provide images customized for iPhone and iPod.
Morgue File is another site with a good collection of free images, entirely contributed by the site's members/visitors. Site has a easy search function, so finding images by a key word is a snap.
