How to Transpose MP3 Files to Your Preferred Key for Better Worship Practise

Transpose
I like to practise songs by playing/singing along with the CD. I learn songs faster that way. But this doesn't work for all songs due to the differences in vocal range of different worship artists. My range is OK for Paul Baloche, Matt Redman, Andy Park etc. But the Chris Tomlins and Israel Houghtons are way beyond my vocal range! This is where transposing tools become invaluable.

Transposr is a handy free online app providing transposing services for chord charts and MP3 files. Let's look at how a music file is transposed using this tool.

This link (Tranpose an MP3) takes you to the mp3 transpose page:
Tr2
Use the upload button to browse and select the mp3. Select the original key of the song and then click on the key you want it transposed to. In my case, the original key is "Ab" and my required key is "Gb." Now click on "Transpose Now!"

The song will be uploaded:
tr3
Once the upload is complete, you'll get this message:
tr4
Wait for this message, it hardly took 2 minutes for my file:
tr5
Click on the download link and save the new mp3 file in your preferred key, that's it! Now you can practise the song in a key within your vocal range to your heart's content.
